End the Silence on Healthcare Violence - How creative storytelling brought new visibility to a national crisis that had hit home.
Communications and marketing teams have a unique vantage point when it comes to some of the most critical issues impacting healthcare. More often than not, what we see is complex, challenging to address and a potential reputational risk that can impact decisions about how, and even if, we talk about a problem out loud. Learn from the experiences of the Communications and Engagement Strategies team at the University of Vermont Health Network, who earned organizational buy-in for a compelling strategic storytelling project featuring front-line caregivers who bravely shared their stories of violence on the job. “End the silence on healthcare violence” played out across owned, earned and paid channels, and traveled into the national and global conversation through industry coverage and more than 4.6 million views through news media amplification. The body of work, aimed at increasing awareness and stimulating new conversations toward solutions, was part of an ongoing communications strategy to use storytelling to humanize big issues in healthcare.

How Hartford Healthcare streamlined its visual asset distribution to 37K+ employees and strengthened its community reputation
Ensuring employees always have access to the most up-to-date, on-brand assets is a challenge for organizations of any size. However, when your organization has tens of thousands of employees and handles sensitive content, this undertaking becomes even more complex. Hartford Healthcare (HHC), a network of hospitals, ambulatory sites, and care facilities with over 500 locations across the Northeast partnered with PhotoShelter, the leading digital asset management platform (DAM) to streamline its content workflow and strengthen brand reputation and trust in the communities they serve. In this session, Chris Rakoczy, Staff Photographer at Hartford Healthcare and PhotoShelter will dive into the strategies and digital solutions used to increase collaboration across its various creative teams and reduce the amount of time spent searching and managing content requests. By leveraging PhotoShelter’s advanced features, Chris and his team were able to easily and securely access their content and images from anywhere, even if they were at an event miles away from their home network. This allowed faster turnaround on creative asks and provided better collaboration across departments. PhotoShelter also helped build an organized photo library, powered by PhotoShelter’s keyword tagging capabilities, which allowed HHC’s 37,000 colleagues to search and find the content needed in real-time, in a secure and HIPAA-compliant manner. With instant access to HHC’s photo library, team members could download photos from recent community events to share through their marketing channels. This visual content helped the HHC marketing team showcase what mattered most: the stories of health, healing, and care across their community, ultimately strengthening their reputation as a trusted local healthcare provider.

Leading With Emotion: The Right Way To Map Patient Journeys
Healthcare consumerism has never been more real. People have more care options than ever, and the way they utilize healthcare has evolvedConsider:- The average person splits their healthcare amongst 4-5 healthcare provider brands each year- 58% of Americans reported that they are likely to seek non-emergency care from a retail pharmacy- The average health system has experienced an 11% drop in operating margin vs pre-pandemic levels Consumer behavior has evolved tremendously in recent years, making it even more challenging for healthcare marketers to communicate effectively and build loyalty with their key audiences. Understanding the journey of today's healthcare consumer will provide the insights needed for healthcare marketers to make the impact they aim for. In this session, participants will discover why journey mapping is essential for healthcare marketers. They'll be exposed to real-world examples and engage in hands-on mapping exercises. These activities, designed to be both fun and educational, so that  at the end of the session, participants will be equipped with skills, practical tools and confidence to create insightful journey maps that inform and enhance marketing strategies, ensuring a stronger connection with healthcare consumers.
